Experience

Over the last 25+ years, we’ve helped over 200 government, Catholic, and independent schools plan, design, and build learning environments and facilities that include new schools and campuses, learning centres, STEM, performing arts, sporting and administration facilities.

With expertise and experience spanning all facets of education architecture, we support schools throughout the entire process – from master planning design to grant applications, concept design, documentation, town planning, interior design, contract administration and construction through to delivery.

Expertise

Our team, which includes Accredited Learning Environment Planners and former teachers, architects, project managers, interior designers, and technicians, intimately understands the intrinsic link between environment and pedagogy and contemporary teaching modalities and philosophies.

This specialised expertise, paired with our vast architectural knowledge and experience, ensures that the schools we partner with are able to successfully align their built environment with their vision and create environments where students, staff, and the broader school community unite and flourish.

Approach

Understanding that each school and project is unique, our approach is truly collaborative and consultative. It focuses not just on understanding and meeting the functional, cultural and aspirational needs of the school community but aligning its built environment with its pedagogical approach, values and vision.

As facilitators, we work to guide, advise and enable schools to invest strategically and achieve the ultimate outcome for their students, staff and community. This means important delivery considerations, like disruption to the school community, aren’t overlooked as we work to design and deliver accessible, inclusive, stimulating and engaging environments that offer the scope and flexibility school’s need to keep pace with the ever-evolving education landscape.

Modular

As one of the few architectural practices in Australia specialising in modular architecture, we’ve helped many schools take advantage of the benefits of modular construction, in particular reduced time on site and disruption, without compromising design or architecture.

Our expertise in the space and design led approach means that the architecture and aesthetic of our modular projects aren’t dictated by the functional requirements of the construction method but rather by the needs and vision of the project and feature the same level of considered and customised design as buildings constructed using traditional methods.

I’ve found the B2 team a pleasure to work with on large, complex projects - whether that be the redevelopment of existing facilities or creating exciting brand new learning spaces. The team are extremely knowledgeable, collaborative and forward thinking”.
