Development of a world class STEAM centre with world class learning environments for art, science, design and digital technologies.

The Mentone Girls Secondary College School Council engaged B2 to help repurpose and transform the school’s existing technology building, which was no longer fit for purpose, to create a new STEAM centre for the school.

Our design solution focussed on integrating project based learning activities by interconnecting the existing art building to the new STEAM centre, so that students can seamlessly transition between the different learning environments. The new STEAM Centre’s facilities house a variety of contemporary learning environments for specialist subjects including art, science, materials, design and digital technology, along with collaborative break out and support spaces. The building works involved both redevelopment and refurbishment of the existing spaces, along with alternations and additions.
