The Stables Kindergarten redevelopment

The redeveloped Stables Kindergarten in Mill Park will provide the local community with two purpose-built kinder learning environments, connected to a tranquil, landscaped outdoor space for play and learning.

Designed to be safe, welcoming, and versatile spaces that support play-based learning, promote wellbeing, stimulate young minds, and foster curiosity, the centre will feature many sensory design elements.

These include tactile materials and textures, soft hues of colour, and geometric shapes that work together to create a calming, warm, and caring environment.

Large, glazed areas provide abundant natural light, seamlessly connecting indoor and outdoor spaces and providing all important lines of sight for supervision.

Importantly, sustainability has been prioritised through the use of passive design principles and the considered selection of materials, with double-glazing, solar panels, rainwater reuse, and permeable paving all working together to reduce consumption.
