The concept designs for the refurbishment of the school hall and canteen demonstrate that choosing to refurbish doesn’t mean compromising on design or aesthetics.
After completing the Master Plan for Stawell West Primary School, we have continued to work closely and collaboratively with the staff, students and community to develop the design and plans for the school’s new learning centre.
Once complete, the flexible, open-plan learning environment will feature learning neighbourhoods that will be home to students from Prep through to Year 6. Each learning neighbourhood is separated by dedicated ‘pockets’ that provide space and opportunities for shared learning, quiet time, withdrawal, connection, and reflection.
The design of the centre’s exterior is inspired by the tones and forms of the surrounding native flora and botanicals that characterise the nearby Grampians region. Inside, the interior features earthy tones, textures and materials that combine to create a calming space for learning and connection and promoting wellbeing.
